Self Confidence

I have definitely always felt very self conscious in what I wear and how I put myself across, since I can remember. If I wore something a bit out of my comfort zone, it would be on my mind the entire day, and I couldn’t wait to get home and change into something different. The habit of changing ten times until I’m comfortable. Thinking you look okay, going outside to get on with your day then… I regret this decision! I feel horrible!

It’s taken me a long time to stop comparing myself to others – and getting self conscious by wearing or doing something different to someone else. I would honestly say maybe up until a year ago, I was so insecure in myself and the way I look – and even now I still get pangs of anxiousness where I just want to crawl into a hole away from everyone! But now, I know that everyone is different and we all have our own unique qualities and beauties that others don’t have. It doesn’t matter AT ALL how you look or how you dress – there are always going to be people that have something to say. You just need to realise that not everyone’s opinion matters – and that is what I’m coming to terms with myself.

In light of this, I got some inspiration from Dia&Co, who love to help people push boundaries, feel confident and try something new in the way they dress. Click here to have a browse of their website and get some inspiration of your own. My challenge was to wear something that I normally wouldn’t and try something new.

I chose to wear a midi skirt – the reason being, I NEVER wear anything this length because I always feel I’m too short and the cut just doesn’t suit me.

This style and fit always looks so good on my friends, but I just never take the plunge to wear it myself.

This scuba style skirt is from Topshop in almost a deep teal colour. I bought this skirt when this style was quite popular, and I never really wore it.

Even when I put this outfit on and looked back at some of the pictures I still kept thinking “This does not look right at all!” “I need to pick something else!”

Looking back now, I know it doesn’t really look awful at all. I just kept telling myself that midi styles were not for me – when actually it’s a nice alternative to always wearing trousers or shorter dresses.

My bodysuit is from Primark – a little bargain at about £6! There has been such nice pieces in at the moment – I got the cutest bell sleeve jumper for £10 the other day. So pleased!

My strappy gold heels are from Public Desire – they literally go with anything which is my reasoning for wearing them to death!

I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this post – it was really great for me to write and explain how I had felt about my confidence levels and trying new things. I hope you take from this a new feeling of confidence and attitude of “I look good!”

Keep an eye out for my next post soon!

Cheap Treats

It’s hard trying to stay on a budget and save and still look fab-u-lous. I ALWAYS tell myself I’m going to buy nothing this month and be good, but I always cave!

I’ve bought a few items this month which I love and they don’t break the bank. Let’s start off with these Public Desire beauts:    RRP: £29.99

I’ve had my eye on these babes for a while now, and after a work trip to London was announced I now have an excuse to buy them!

I love the “barely there” style of heel and I love this gold colouring. Gold shoes can be a bit hit and miss if you don’t get the right shade or material, but these get my heel of approval. (Get it?)

Another item I’m obsessed with is this bodysuit from BooHoo:  RRP: £15

Where have you been all my life!? This body is a life saver for girls like me, AKA girls with no boobs.

If you’re part of the gang too, buy this! It gives the girls a push in all the right directions, and if you’re savvy with the boob contour (like myself) you can trick everyone into thinking you’ve grown some DD’s.. Maybe..

Disclaimer: this bodysuit comes up super small so go up a size!     RRP: £15

Spice up ya life with this baby! Where is this from, you may ask? Topshop? River Island? Oh no. It’s from Primark

I love love love this silver corrugated material and how the bottom half of this jumpsuit goes into culottes. I’ve had my eye on this kind of grandma-skirt-esque material and culottes for ages and was unsure if they’d suit me, but for £15, it went straight in my basket.

 RRP: £22

Lastly are these high waisted cigarette pants from Missguided. I struggle when I go out because I always without a doubt throw on some black skinnies. You can’t go wrong. But I had to switch it up!

They fit lovely and they’re just the right length! It’s hard to find good tailored pants for around £20, bargain!      These bad boys are so good I’ll practically make my money back I’ll wear them that often.. Yep definitely..

What are your newest buys?

I hope you’ve enjoyed my post and have a lovely weekend xo

OOTN

I’ve had the best, most relaxing weekend as my boyfriend and I stayed at the amazing Midland Hotel in Manchester as an anniversary present.

We booked in for a spa day which was absolute bliss! Facials and massages, I don’t think it gets much better!

We had an evening out in Manchester’s Northern Quarter where we went to a few of our favourite bars.

I wore this amazing lace bodysuit from ASOS, which I think was only £28! My black Joni jeans from Topshop and my white blazer jacket from Primark, which was only £15!

I love the simplicity of this look. I used bronze and gold eyeshadows on my eyes, with white shadow in the corners to open my eyes up!

I also accessorised this look with my gold Swarvoski earrings, my gold DKNY watch and my best friend also bought me this gorgeous chocker style necklace, also from ASOS, which I love!

What do you think of my look? Hope you’ve had a lovely weekend! X

Summer Time

Image

It’s starting to get warmer and people are booking their holidays for the Summer and no doubt people will be holiday shopping! I’m going away with all my friends to Malia this August and I’ve been stocking up on bikini’s and trying to find myself some little sun dresses and sandals! The peach and flowery bikini above is from H&M and I think will look lovely with a tan, it was only cheap too. However, you have to buy the two pieces separate, which sometimes isn’t bad if you need different sizes but can be a bit more costly. OR you could even mix and match! I love H&M for holiday clothes and simple pieces, it’s still cheap but has great quality.

Image This neon green bikini is from good old Primark, only £4! I love this colour, and think this will also look great when you have a tan! Being only very cheap, it’s still great looking and eye-catching. I think Primark are great for basic clothes and holiday pieces! Of course, you find the rubbish cheap looking clothes but there are still the great finds! You can pick up sunglasses and flip flops for around £1, and get great bikinis (with tops and bottoms) for around £3.
